Oak House offers varied activities and entertainment. The home facilitates group activities as well as one-to-one sessions with residents. We have regular visits from a hairdresser, aromatherapist, chiropodist and religious ministers.
Oak House has regular entertainers that visit the home. At least twice a week the home holds music afternoons provided by performers or musicians. We are also lucky to have amazing local volunteers who visit home for singing, readings and floristry. We actively encourage visitors into the home to maintain links with family, friends and community.
Some recent activities include:
- Visits by Sidney the therapy dog
- Exercise classes
- Gardening sessions
- Visits from Roots to Wings nursery in Wymondham
- Care home Olympics
- Trips to local coffee mornings
Filmed with the children from Roots to Wings nursery for the Better Care programme which brings generations together, incorporating food and drink into activities for the betterment of both.
The film was commissioned by our local Food for Life team (Soil Association) and West Leicestershire CCG
